When can I start the challenge?

    < 1 min read

All of the peaks for your Six-Pack of Peaks Challenge must be hiked during the challenge period, starting January 1st. You do not need to wait for your welcome packet to begin hiking the peaks.

Attempting to summit some of the peaks early in the year can change it from a hike to winter mountaineering. We do not recommend attempting snow covered peaks unless you have the tools and experience required of winter mountaineering. For information on what separates winter hiking from winter mountaineering you can check out our webinar with Kurt Wedberg of Sierra Mountaineering International.

    Challenge Periods

January 1 – October 31: Adirondacks, Appalachian, Central Oregon, Colorado Rockies, Lake Tahoe, New England, New Mexico, Northern California, Pacific Northwest, and Utah

January 1 – December 31: Central Coast, Las Vegas, San Diego, San Francisco Bay Area, and Southern California

    November 1 – April 30: Arizona Winter

    May 1 – October 31: Arizona Summer
